Rubicon Hauls in International Honors: The 2017 Circular Economy Awards

Earlier this month, the Young Global Leaders Circular Economy Taskforce announced the finalists for its Circular Economy Awards program. Also known as “The Circulars,” the awards were designed to celebrate the success of leaders and businesses who are paving the way toward a circular economy with innovative solutions. I’m honored to say that Rubicon Global is represented in two out of the seven award categories.

So, what exactly is a circular economy? It begins with learning to see waste in a new way. Instead of the current linear “make, take, waste” model, in a circular economy waste barely exists. Products and materials serve a purpose within the system for as long as possible.

Rubicon Global, under the leadership of our Chairman, CEO and Circulars Circular Economy Leadership finalist Nate Morris, is enabling businesses to divert waste from landfills and promote a more circular economy. We are disrupting the $1 trillion global waste and recycling industry, which currently profits from frequenting landfills through a business model that incentivizes reuse and recycling of materials.

Since The Circulars launched just two years ago, the program has attracted more than 400 entrants from 36 countries. We’re honored to stand out among so many innovators who are helping the world make better use of our finite resources. Rubicon has been honored as a finalist in the following categories:

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in January during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland. It is an honor to be recognized on this world stage and it is a testament to the hardworking team that tirelessly devotes itself to Rubicon’s mission to eradicate the world of landfills, ushering in a new circular economy.
